PM: Malaysians, foreigners have access to best healthcare
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has given his assurance that the people, be it Malaysians or foreigners residing in the country, will have access to the best healthcare facilities and services.
In a Facebook post yesterday in conjunction with World Health Day, he pledged that the Perikatan Nasional government would make sure everyone received healthcare.
He urged the people to join forces with the authorities to help in the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Throughout the world, 130 million Covid-19 cases had been reported with 2.85 million deaths due to the virus, he said.
He said 353,329 cases had been reported in the country since the pandemic began last year, claiming 1,300 lives up to yesterday.
“Even though Covid-19 cases in Malaysia is declining, the situation is not stable yet.
“We have faced the Covid-19 threats together and it is my hope that we will continue to weather the pandemic together and see to the country’s economic recovery.”
He thanked health frontliners for their hard work and for providing the best services, especially during the pandemic.
World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 in conjunction with the establishment of the World Health Organisation in 1948.
