MORE than 3,000 jobs from 64 employers are on offer at the MYFutureJobs career fair at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Organised by the Social Security Organisation (Socso), the two-day event, which ends today, also provides career counselling and guidance for jobseekers to explore career opportunities through the national employment portal.

Socso chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said the 64 employers taking part in the fair were members of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and SME Association of Malaysia (SME Malaysia).

“Recently, we inked strategic partnerships with FMM and SME Malaysia with the aim of communicating the government’s initiatives relating to employment and job creation.

“We have been actively engaging stakeholders on extensive collaborations to effectively facilitate unemployed individuals to secure jobs during these trying times.

“Through this strategic partnership, employers from both organisations can seize the opportunity from Socso’s Hiring Incentives and Training Programme( Kerjaya),” he said yesterday.

The PenjanaKerjaya initiative subsidises employers up to RM36,000 per hired employee for a maximum duration of six months.

“The incentives are targeted to help businesses obtain a pool of skilled talent for their operations and to pave the way for business growth or expansion.

“At the same time, the incentives are expected to assist in providing jobs for local talent and lowering the country’s unemployment rate.

“Additionally, each newly hired employee is entitled for a training programme, fully subsidised under PenjanaKerjaya, for up to RM7,000 per training course.

“These employees are also qualified for a one-off mobility assistance payment of RM500 or RM1,000.”

Azman said the career fair would be a platform for employers to find the right talent for their business operations and match jobseekers with suitable vacancies.

Socso welcomes more strategic partnerships with organisations, businesses and establishments that are interested in participating in its career fairs.

Members of the public and jobseekers are encouraged to pre-register at https://careerfair.perkeso.gov.my/ for the fair due limited physical attendance in accordance with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures.

The fair is from 9am to 4pm.
