The Mexican candidate for federal deputy of the Social Encounter Party Carlos Mayorga launching his campaign inside a coffin to highlight the country’s many thousands of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic and cartel-related violence at the Zaragoza-Ysleta international bridge in Ciudad de Juarez, Mexico, on Tuesday. Carlos Mayorga, a lower house candidate for the Encuentro Solidario party in the northern state of Chihuahua, says he is sending a message to politicians that people were dying “because of their indifference”.
