This, he said, was followed by Selangor with 590 new cases. Selangor had notched 122,407 infections so far.

Dr Noor Hisham said the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country currently stood at 370,528.

Two more fatalities were reported yesterday, bringing the death toll to 1,365 since the pandemic hit the country last year.

Both victims were Malaysians from Selangor. He said there were currently 18,600 active cases, of which 227 patients were in intensive care, with 91 requiring breathing assistance.

A total of 1,524 people recovered from the virus yesterday, bringing the overall recovery tally to 350,563 people.

Dr Noor Hisham announced the emergence of seven new Covid-19 clusters yesterday.

Sarawak, he said, contributed two clusters, with one workplace cluster in Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Bintulu, and a community cluster in Jepak, also in Bintulu. The other two workplace clusters were in Jalan Balakong, Selangor, and Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur.

He said the two detention centre clusters involved detention centres in Sandakan, Sabah, and Lenggeng, Negri Sembilan.

The educational institution cluster was in Sri Layang, Pahang, which contributed 15 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

“Currently, there are 346 active clusters. A total of 1,161 clusters have ended, including seven clusters that ended today.
