-

IPOH: Two people were killed and four people seriously injured in a five-vehicle accident at Km263.3 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) here on Sunday. The dead have been identified as K. Nagantheran, 22, and Maryamah Talib, 52. District police chief Assistant Commisioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said Maryamah had lost control of her Perodua Myvi and landed in a ditch. This prompted Nagantheran, who was also driving a Perodua Myvi, and a driver of a Mitsubishi Triton to pull over to help Maryamah. However, an oncoming Perodua Alza, which went out of control, rammed into them. “This caused the three of them to fall in the ditch. A motorcyclist, who could not brake on time, fell on the road and suffered minor injuries.”
