Family of 5 injured as falling tree hits car

Five members of a family were injured when their car was hit by a falling tree along Jalan Hutan Simpan Masjid Tanah here on Sunday. Masjid Tanah Fire and Rescue Department’s Senior Fire Superinten­dent II Zul Akhman Othman said in the 6.30pm incident, a couple in their 30s suffered head injuries, while their three children were slightly injured. A 45-year-old man, who was driving a Honda Accord which was also affected in the incident, escaped unhurt. “The Masjid Tanah Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 6.40pm and a fire engine with a team of six firemen on board reached the scene six minutes later,” he said here on Sunday night.
