Woman dies after falling from LRT train

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman died after falling from a light rail transit (LRT) train at the Sentul Timur LRT Station on Friday. Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissone­r Beh Eng Lai said closed-circuit television footage showed that the incident occurred at 4.30pm. He said the woman was seen walking on the roof of a coach before sitting between the train connector. “She fell when the train started moving and was crushed. No identifica­tion documents were found and investigat­ions are ongoing,” he told Berita Harian on Friday. A Sentul Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received an emergency call at 5pm and despatched a team to remove the body. “The remains were removed within 30 minutes and handed to the police.” The Sentul Timur and PWTC LRT stations will remain closed until further notice.
