Woman dies after falling from LRT train

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman died after falling from a light rail transit (LRT) train at the Sentul Timur LRT Station on Friday. Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissoner Beh Eng Lai said closed-circuit television footage showed that the incident occurred at 4.30pm. He said the woman was seen walking on the roof of a coach before sitting between the train connector. “She fell when the train started moving and was crushed. No identification documents were found and investigations are ongoing,” he told Berita Harian on Friday. A Sentul Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received an emergency call at 5pm and despatched a team to remove the body. “The remains were removed within 30 minutes and handed to the police.” The Sentul Timur and PWTC LRT stations will remain closed until further notice.
