Excavator driver injured in wall collapse at worksite

KUALA LUMPUR: An escavator driver was crushed by a collapsed wall at a constructi­on site near Flora Damansara in Jalan PJU 8, Damansara Perdana near here, yesterday. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the 32-year-old Bangladesh­i, who was trapped under the rubble, was unconsciou­s when he was rescued. He said the department received a distress call at 11.44am and an eightmembe­r team from the Damansara Fire and Rescue Department was despatched to the site. Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commission­er Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the firefighte­rs were still carrying out rescue operations at the location.
