Excavator driver injured in wall collapse at worksite

KUALA LUMPUR: An escavator driver was crushed by a collapsed wall at a construction site near Flora Damansara in Jalan PJU 8, Damansara Perdana near here, yesterday. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the 32-year-old Bangladeshi, who was trapped under the rubble, was unconscious when he was rescued. He said the department received a distress call at 11.44am and an eightmember team from the Damansara Fire and Rescue Department was despatched to the site. Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the firefighters were still carrying out rescue operations at the location.
