KOTA BARU: Two Kelantan assemblymen are undergoing home quarantine after they tested positive for Covid-19.

State Local Government, Health and Housing Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin said the two were Rohani Ibrahim (Tanjung Mas) and Mohd Rozi Muhamad (Tendong ).

Another assemblyman, Mohd Roseli Ismail (Kemuning) was also undergoing self-quarantine, he added.

“I’m not sure how many days they were quarantined, but I was told that the Kemuning assemblyman was undergoing selfquarantine after being identified as a close contact of his child, who is positive for Covid-19.

“The other two were positive for Covid-19 following tests. They are now undergoing self-quarantine at their homes,” he said yesterday.

Dr Izani said the three were also absent from Sunday’s state assembly sitting.

The sitting on Sunday was adjourned two days earlier than scheduled after two assemblymen tested positive, while another was a close contact of a Covid19 patient.

Speaker Datuk Abdullah Ya’kub was reported to have said the sitting was adjourned around 11am to prevent the virus from spreading.

Abdullah said the state’s 2022 Budget was passed without debate at the sitting before it was adjourned.
