-

GEORGE TOWN: An Indonesian woman, 45, was found dead with four slash wounds, including a 13cm cut on the neck, in a unit of the Sri Nipah Apartment in Sungai Nibong here. Two Bangladeshi tenants of the unit found the victim at 11.30pm on Sunday covered in blood. Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Soffian Santong said the three-bedroom unit was rented by three Bangladeshi men. “The main suspect, a 37-year-old Bangladeshi male tenant, has fled and we are looking for him. Apart from the slash wounds on the neck, the victim was also slashed on the stomach, chest and behind the ears,” he said, adding that two knives were found at the scene. Soffian said police found marks on the victim’s wrists and legs, likely from material used to tie her.
