• Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.

• It’s the third most common cancer in Malaysia.

• Almost 95 per cent of patients are diagnosed at stages 3 or 4.

• Those with a family history are more at risk.

• Smoking is a known risk, as is exposure to secondhand smoke.

MYTHS

• Only smokers get lung cancer.
