MOTOSIKAL dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas) has given the Karisma 125, its all-time most popular entry-level scooter, a new update. The new Karisma 125S gets a 124.8cc, fuel-injection, four-stroke single-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 7.0kW at 7,500rpm and 10.0Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

Fuel efficiency has always been one of the scooter’s main attractions. The engine meets the latest Euro 4 and energy-efficient vehicles standards to go along with the large 5.1-litre fuel tank.

Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said the launch of the Karisma 125S was to tap the rise in market demand for scooter-type motorcycles, as well as to expand its market segment in Malaysia.

“I truly believe that it will be a loveat-first sight for our customers given its price tag, modern design and latest technology used.”

The front portion of the scooter has a pair of full LED headlights with daytime running lights.

The front and rear signals now are full LED while there is also a modern meter gauge with digital fuel level and a brand-new key system with a seat opener button.

Other features include a 14-litre under-seat compartment with an additional front twin pockets and a USB charging socket mounted on the dashboard.

The 2022 Modenas Karisma 125S is available in the three colour schemes of Aqua Blue, Duchess Gold and Mystic Red and priced from RM5,397 (without insurance and road tax).

The first generation of the Karisma 125 was launched in August 2003 while a facelift model was introduced in 2016.
