THE High Court has fixed July 7 to deliver its verdict on Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s graft trial involving the solar hybrid project.

Judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan fixed the date during the mention of the case yesterday.

“We have reached the end of the road with this case and today (yesterday), it is time to end the journey to fix a date and give a decision.

“I propose to take two months from today and have my full written judgment on July 7 when I deliver the decision.

“I will deliver my decision at 9am,” he said.

Rosmah was hauled to court on April 10, 2019, and accused of soliciting and receiving bribes in connection with a RM1.25 billion project to supply solar energy to rural schools in Sarawak.

Rosmah, who is the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, was ordered to enter her defence on Feb 18 last year after the prosecution succeeded in establishing a prima facie case against her.

A total of 23 prosecution and two defence witnesses, including Rosmah herself, had testified in the trial which began on Feb 6, two years ago.

Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram told the court that the prosecution had submitted two additional case laws for the case.

Rosmah’s lawyer then requested the court for extra time to study the new documents and submit their reply on the written submission, which the court allowed.

“Rest assured, I will definitely go through the submissions.

“I have already gone through your earlier submission at least once and I will go through it again.

“I give my word that yours will be the last say,” Zaini said.

Rosmah, 70, is accused of soliciting RM187.5 million and receiving

RM5 million from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd.

She is accused of receiving the money from Jepak Holdings managing director Saidi Abang

Samsudin in exchange for helping the company secure the RM1.25 billion project to supply solar hybrid energy to 369 schools in Sarawak.
