Methods of creative teachers to be adopted

THE Education Ministry is considering integrating the innovative and creative methods used by awardwinning teachers into the national education system. Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said this was to ensure the efforts of these teachers, who were recognised by the ministry with excellence awards, could be replicated in other schools.

“When I attended the Anugerah Guru Inspirasi award presentation yesterday (Saturday) and today (yesterday), I can see that the teachers had done their best.

“This way, more teachers will be inspired to come up with new ideas and be rewarded for their contribution to students.

“These efforts will be limited to their schools if no action is taken at the national education level.

“I have mentioned this to the director-general of education, as I believe the ministry can consider absorbing the innovative methods or use the ideas in other schools in the country.

“Some of the innovative ideas might be especially useful because they are low cost but easy to implement,” he said when launching the teacher appreciation ceremony of Festival Guru Malaysia 2022 at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan here yesterday.

Present were Director-General of Education Datuk Nor Zamani Abdol Hamid and Yayasan Guru Malaysia Bhd chairman Aminudin Adam.

Radzi said he believed this kind of recognition would encourage more teachers to be creative and innovative in their teaching.

“In every speech I give, l always stress that education is important and needs to be understood and immersed by everyone.

“What is needed at all levels is honesty and sincerity.

“These teachers have never thought about the rewards and awards that they will get.

“They are doing this because they want to give the best to their students so that the children — the country’s next generation — can compete with others at the global level.

“If we remain with our old practices, our country will be left behind when other countries are fast developing, “he said.

Twenty-seven teachers from all over the country received awards in various categories at yesterday’s event.
