Kaka, Daniesh debut first duet ‘Karya’
POPULAR singer-actress Kaka Azraff is teaming up for the first time with singer-actor Daniesh Suffian in a duet titled ‘Karya’. The song is being used as the theme song for tonton’s original drama series ‘Kuih Muah’, and has been well-received by music lovers.
Written and composed by Omar K and Dari, ‘Karya’ is about the innermost feelings of a person who is lovestruck and wants to share his or her feelings with the whole world.
‘Karya’ marks Kaka’s first collaboration with Alternate Records and she has always been a fan of romantic pop songs.
“This is my first romantic song, and I’m most honoured to team up with
Daniesh who is a talented new singer,” said Kaka in a statement.
“Recording this song earlier this year was a breeze, and I hope music lovers will give ‘Karya’ their strongest support.”
Daniesh, who is also a composer and lyricist, said he, too, was honoured to record a duet with Kaka. “Both of us are on the same wave-length as we love singing as well as acting.
“What I like about Kaka is her soulful voice and optimistic personality. It was an amazing experience working together with her, and we would love to record more songs together in future,” he said.
Daniesh described ‘Karya’ as a “heartfelt” song which all Malaysians could identify with.
“It’s a song about falling deeply in love and pouring one’s heart out about it. It’s a very honest song, that’s why I love it.”
Kaka, 34, began her singing and acting career in 2012 when she recorded the whimsical duet ‘Bawaku Pergi’ with comedian and action hero Zizan Razak.
The niece of rock legend Ella Aminuddin and cousin of awardwinning actress Siti Saleha Baharom, Kaka also took part in the second season of ‘Fear Factor Selebriti Malaysia’ which was hosted by Datuk Aaron Aziz and partnered ‘Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan’ actor Johan As’ari in the reality show.
Kaka’s other notable songs include ‘Infiniti Cinta’, ‘Terpulanglah’, ‘Bukan Hal Aku’, ‘Ada JalanNya’, ‘Gila’ and ‘Hilang’.
‘Gila’, a duet with Noki of K-Clique and Loca B, won Best Song in Anugerah Juara Lagu 35 in 2020.
As an actress, Kaka has appeared in the films and drama series ‘Interchange’, ‘Aliff Dalam 7 Dimensi’, ‘Diva Popular’, ‘Diva Popular 2’, ‘Lockdown’ and ‘Kesempatan Kedua Myra’.
She has also participated in the reality talent show ‘Duo Star’, in partnership with Singaporean singersongwriter Awi Rafael.
Daniesh, 25, from Tawau in Sabah, is best known for his songs ‘Terabadi’, ‘I’m Okay’, ‘Simpan’ and ‘Pilihlah Aku’.
He has participated in the reality show ‘Vokal Mania’ in 2020, and his best known television dramas include ‘Romantika 4 Hari 3 Malam’ in 2021 and ‘3 Hari’ in 2022.
‘Karya’ is now available on all major music streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer and Tidal.
