Sik Umno hopes to ‘adopt’ officer Faisol’s 2 children

-

The children of helicopter crash victim Warrant Officer II Muhammad Faisol Tamadun may be ‘adopted’ by the Sik Umno division.

Sik Umno chief Datuk Muhamad Khizri Abu Kassim said they were ready to adopt the children with consent from the late Faisol’s family.

Faisol was among the 10 Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) personnel who perished in a mid-air helicopter collision in Lumut, Perak on Tuesday.

Khizri said they had met with Faisol’s family in Kampung Tanjung on Thursday to convey their intention and extend their condolences.

He hoped that the family would agree to the offer.

“I also handed over donations from Sik Umno to help alleviate their burden.

“At the same time, I also conveyed an offer to adopt the children as our ‘foster kids’.

“If they agree, we can help fund their education from school all the way to university-level,” he said.

Khizri added that for now, they were giving the family room to grieve and come to terms with their loss.

He said the division was also ready to help Faisol’s widow, who is a school teacher in Perak, if she plans to get a transfer back to Kedah.

“I have known the late Faisol’s family for a long time.

“We are ready to help them at any time.”

Faisol left behind wife Nur Syuhada Jamil, 37, and two daughters aged 6 and 10.
