The State of Fashion
The global fashion indusTry is a US$ 3 trillion business and this year the spotlight has been cast on emerging markets in Asia as new fashion players assert their strength on a global scale. This unprecedented shift also marks a new era for young Asian designers to finally come into their own, bringing meaningful representation to the term diversity.
Just a few days after we’ve wrapped up KL Fashion Week 2018, we invited four promising young designers who have carved out a niche in the local fashion scene to interview veteran designers of their choice. It certainly proved to be an interesting session as it was a rare opportunity to hear what the seasoned designers have to share from their years of experience.
By uniting the trailblazers of the industry with young talents who will shape the future of fashion, I am proud that we have played a part in providing a platform for the designers to delve deep into their thoughts and hold an insightful discussion on what it truly takes to run a sustainable fashion business. I hope one day we will be able to take this discussion on to a larger scale platform where creative talents can converge under one roof.
The constant evolution of the fashion world is also a point of view shared by our cover personality Su-Quinn Teh, as she chooses to embrace individuality while staying true to her creative spirit.
Enjoy,
