Tom Ford’s new eyewear collection presents itself in a sleek, androgynous design

One Of the leading names in fashion eyewear, Tom Ford’s new autumn/winter 2018-2019 eyewear collection features an abundance of minimalistic details. Structured with materials that throw said details into contrast, the sleek metal designs are enhanced through the use of thin acetates, as well as the addition of sophisticated spoilers on both the front and the side of the pieces.

Incorporating vintage inspiration into the trend this season, the sunglasses and the eyeglasses of the collection sport large, round shapes and extra thick rims, especially in the lower front of the frame. The infinity loop, one of Tom Ford’s most iconic symbols, can be found throughout the collection reproduced in the elegant and refined form of thin, flat metal, a motif that celebrates the strength and sensuality of the feminine world. The signature Tom Ford ‘ T’ logo can also be found embellishing the fronts of some of the pieces in the series.

Certain models in the Sunglass series possess striking colour combinations that are made possible through a special iridescent “lens on lens” technique, while double-bridged aviators lend their wearers a distinctive style that is bound to be noticed. Meanwhile, the Eyeglass series favours rounded, oversized frames, some of them with keyhole style bridges and special lenses that reduce the risks of long-term blue ray exposure.
