Yeoh Pei Teeng
Reviving Heritage
Sheer hard work, integrity and dedication are qualities ingrained in Yeoh Pei Teeng from a young age. Her transition from an academic background in science to a short stint in banking has led to natural progression with a new career at YTL Land & Development. Helming the executive director post at YTL Land, Pei Teeng is ready to embrace change and take on a more versatile approach when it comes to reaching out to the younger, international market. “I asked myself what can I bring to the table, how can I contribute to this business and most importantly, where do I go from here?” she ponders openly.
The go-getter is currently steering her focus towards the group’s 294-acre freehold land bank known as Sentul. With an urban renewal masterplan in the works, Pei Teeng hopes to play a significant role in reviving the historical railway town. “Our vision is to invigorate this ageing downtown precinct by infusing contemporary architecture and new components without the sacrifice of its history, culture and urban fabric,” she says. With the completion of five residential projects and two low-rise commercial projects, the conceptualisation of more mixed developments is already in the works.
For Pei Teeng, the next 10 to 15 years is set to be transformational for the real estate business. “I would like to be able to share a leading role in the industry in defining the future of real estate for the new generation of property buyers. I look forward to challenging the status quo about living, working and playing for this emerging market segment.”
