The first thing you’ll notice about Kendrick Wong is his insatiable curiosity in life. You can almost hear the wheels turning in his head as he fires a dozen questions off at once. As a budding entrepreneur, Kendrick finds this inquisitive nature of his pragmatic. “Apart from self-discipline and always focusing on your mission, I believe in having a tight knit of feedback loop where I constantly question myself and ask how I can do better. I am a person with a lot of questions and am often asked to chill out,” says the CEO of Shoppr and Omnilytics with an amused grin.
It was a natural progression for Kendrick and his team to begin building out Omnilytics once Shoppr was established. While Shoppr acted as the initial point of data collection, Omnilytics was always envisioned as a progression point, harnessing the data collected from Shoppr to help fashion and beauty businesses outperform competition through data-driven decisions. “My time and impact are driven by our mission, which is to assist businesses in making better decisions using data,” says Kendrick who credits self-discipline when it comes to managing between the different time zones and frequent travels.
Prior to Shoppr and Omnilytics, he had sold and exited two companies. Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Kendrick recognises the importance of having a mentor or group of mentors to seek advice and readjust your focus in business if necessary. “In a few years’ time, I want to be able to say we helped the next generation of businesses grow.”
