Prior to knowing Devan Linus Rajadurai and Donovan Ng, co-founders of MTC Asset Management, Aidil Azman was engrossed with property investment while attached to Sime Darby Property. Then along came the friendship that germinated a business opportunity, which led to him joining the duo as part of MTC. “I felt it was time for a change of scenery, so when the opportunity came to join them, I took it and have not looked back since,” Aidil opens up and reveals that he had spent seven years with Sime Darby Property.

The director of investor relations admits to being excited by the new challenge. None more so than successfully roping in his first client who elected to place his trust in MTC. “This new chapter in my life is something that I have embraced and grown very passionate about and I have been able to contribute from day one,” he says, adding that for many years, high-net worth individuals have had to invest overseas. However, now with MTC, they can look forward to having a home-grown company to manage a portion of their total asset portfolios.

Despite the choppy waters of equity markets worldwide, going forward, Aidil remains optimistic. “The fact that MTC’s founders and I have all personally invested in the fund ensures absolute alignment of interest with our clients. The ultimate goal is to continually preserve capital, protect our downside while making consistent and steady returns for the long t erm.”
