LAKE SHIKOTSU ICE FESTIVAL

A month long festival on Lake Shikotsu in Hokkaido, about 40 minutes from Sapporo. The festival features huge ice sculptures in varying shapes and sizes, created by the locals with water from the lake. Colourful illuminations and fireworks add to the spectacle.
