Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal is the third in the series of special releases crafted using whiskies sourced from defunct distilleries, hence the expression “ghost.”
The Highland-based distillery Glenury Royal shuttered in 1985 and this Blue Label edition uses the eponymous single malt as its rich and fruity crux, before adding blends from Cambus, Pittyvaich, Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie for a complex and multi-sensorial finish boasting sweet whiffs of vanilla, heather honey and dried fruits as well as balanced by dark chocolate, creamy toffee and butterscotch notes.
