GABRIELLA HANOKA WAS BORN IN ALEXANDRIA, EGYPT. She married her childhood sweetheart, Raymond Aghion in 1940 shortly before the couple moved to Paris in 1945. In 1952, Gaby Aghion designed her first collection. Resourcefully engaging the help of an experienced seamstress, the young designer founded Chloé – one of the first luxury ready-to-wear houses that broke free from the norms of haute couture. Offering an elegant and modern wardrobe with relaxed silhouettes in premium materials, Chloé lives up to its founder’s vision to this day. Since 2017, Natacha Ramsay-Levi has helmed as creative director. Proud to be a part of a house founded by a woman to dress women, she endeavours to create styles that enhance the personality of the women who wear it – and she delivers.

This Fall-Winter 2020, Natacha Ramsay-Levi collaborates for a second time with British fashion photographer David Sims in a poetic campaign titled If You Listen Carefully... I’ll Show You How to Dance, named for an artwork by painter Rita Ackermann. Singer Lous and The Yakuza, alongside actress Anna Brewster and model Lola Nicon, lend their hypnotic charm through a series of stills and a short film that capture a shared spirit of modernity and grace that exceed the boundaries of classical definition. These three creative spirits express a sense of togetherness, optimism, and sincerity that heralds a new kind of simplicity through feminine unity. Beyond visuals, the words spoken in the short film by Marianne Faithfull capture the eternal mystique of the Chloé woman: The beauty of her body was the essence of her soul. Chloé shares the latest chapter of its refined designs with the opening of its first boutique in Malaysia in partnership with Valiram. Sophisticated, with a decidedly modern energy, the boutique offers an enticing range of bags, ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes and perfumes that celebrate the inimitable charm of the Chloé woman.
