Bvlgari

impressive and incredible in craftsmanship, exquisite creations are unveiled through Bvlgari’s latest and most high-end jewellery collection to date.

Reflecting the Roman maison’s 137-years of experience, the colossal Magnifica collection consists of 350 masterpieces of high jewellery and watches using a unique combination of superlative gems and cutting-edge craftsmanship. Exhibiting exclusiveness via the pinnacle of luxury, about 60-plus of the pieces in the collection are priced in the millions.

According to Bvlgari’s jewellery creation and gem buying director Lucia Silvestri, the collection celebrates fearless and revolutionary women, who took bold decisions that changed the course of things at the time. Specifically, it takes its inspiration

from Hortensia of Ancient Rome and Maharani of Indor, to 17th century painter Artemisia Gentileschi and Chinese writer Eileen Chang.

There are many pieces that stand out from this collection, and one of them is the Ruby Metamorphosis. This revolutionary and versatile piece took a total of 2,500 hours to be made, just so its design enables one to wear it in at least nine different ways. Comprising of detachable pieces including a diamond choker and a chain, a precious

10.02 carat antique cushion-cut Mozambique ruby is central to the jewel. A soft silk-like tassel mixing baguette diamonds and cabochon rubies makes it a true work of art in embodying transformation.

A constant Bvlgari icon, the snake returns in new form through the Hypnotic Emerald necklace. Representing eternal life and feminine seduction, the jaws of the reptile is seen clenching upon an exceptional 93.83 carat cabachon-cut Colombian emerald, effortlessly making it a focal point. Its exquisite body featuring pavé-set diamonds, as well as diamond baguettes and emeralds, gives the necklace a bold yet playful twist.

Inspired by one of Bvlgari’s classic necklace dating back to 1969, the Mediterranean Queen necklace features five outstanding oval cushion-cut Paraiba tourmalines weighing about 500 carats, and is juxtaposed to cabochon emeralds and diamonds. This piece exudes refreshing purity and recalls the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean sea.

If you are looking for a retro inspired piece, the Color Legacy pays tribute towards the festive exuberance of the ‘80s. Different coloured gems and distinctive cuts are set in impressive rhythm and composition. A total of seven 84 carat oval aquamarines, 16 oval rubellites, 32 buff-top amethysts, and 15 pear diamonds create this kaleidoscopic piece.

The best is always saved for last, and so, the most impressive jewellery from the Magnifica collection is without a doubt the Imperial Spinel necklace boasting a magnificent 131.24 carat spinel hailing from Tajikistan. It is the fourth largest known in the world, as three of the largest spinels are allegedly set into Russian and British Imperial crowns. Surrounding the gem, a cascade of diamonds and emerald beads in a bold selection of green and hot pink tones enhances its beauty.

Unequivocally, Bvlgari has pulled all the stops this time. The Magnifica collection is not only a timeless splendour, but it provides an ultimate tribute towards beauty, and to the upscale craftsmanship and expertise of the Italian maestria.
