Bulgari introduces six new references to the B.zero1 Rock collection, expanding the unapologetic series that remains a true symbol of innovation

Bulgari aims high this year with a message of hope and positivity embodied by its latest brand campaign featuring K-pop sensation Lisa of Blackpink. In a celebration of imagination and an encouragement to dream bold, the brand expands B.zero1 Rock, its most unconventional collection, with six exciting new references.

To truly appreciate B.zero1’s evolution, it is crucial to understand the collection’s origin and fondness for pioneering attitudes. It was in 1999 when Bulgari first decided to pursue unchartered realms of atypical aesthetic conventions. The B.zero1 ring broke all the rules and standards of jewellery design in the day. Rather than dainty objects packed with intricacies and emphasising precious gems, the B.Zero1 ring embraced the dignified beauty of architectural style.

A distinct form, the ring features several stacked bands, drawing inspiration from Rome’s most famous amphitheatre, the Colosseum. Fluid and structured lines intersect, referencing the industrial influence as it reflects the modern spirit of the Eternal City. The purity of its distinctive spiral born of Bulgari’s tubogas technique is a metaphor for the harmony of the past, present and future, symbolic of B.zero1’s progressive energy.

The collection intends to empower the wearer through unconventional totems worn daily, not hidden in safes, only to make a bold statement on special occasions. It delivers gregarious individuals with expressive jewellery to confidently integrate into any look with avant-garde flair. Since then, no other collection has embodied selfexpression, strength and creative spirit better than B.zero1.

One of the most notable past interpretations of the timeless B.zero1 ring came in 2015 when Bulgari chief executive Jean-Christophe Babin invited Zaha Hadid to recreate the B.zero1 collection. The late architectural legend was a woman of great vision and innovation, blending Bulgari’s bold, geometric style with her fluid design language.

Two flat bands with the double logo engraving of the original ring connect by organic waves of gold that cross to create a delicate threedimensional filigree around its circumference. These signature curves convey the fluidity and dynamism that personified Hadid’s architecture.

Before Hadid, sculptor Anish Kapoor also lent his vision to the iconic design, applying a reflective mirror-like surface to the finish of the B. zero1 ring, made with pink gold and steel. The broad bi-colour hoop with a polished waisted central band was an imaginative and futuristic take on the ageless design.

B.ZERO1 ROCK COLLECTION

In 2020, Bulgari unveiled an unapologetic and more audacious interpretation in the B.zero1 Rock collection. The latest incarnation flaunts a new studded core with rockstar panache, as brave and innovative as the numerous interpretations preceding it.

For 2021, B.zero1 Rock expands with six new pieces, including three necklaces, two rings and a bangle. Cool, edgy, and fearlessly unisex, the collection continues to pay tribute to Rome’s 2700 years of art, culture, and architecture with thoughtfully constructed masterpieces. The new novelties flaunt a certain elegance as geometric cores are enhanced by the shimmer of pavé diamonds or framed by black ceramic inserts.

The hero of the collection’s latest additions is the showstopping 18kt white gold necklace, a sparkling objet d’art enriched with its 7.20-carat pavé diamonds. The contemporary statement piece is the most precious B.zero1 Rock jewel to date.

A concrete demonstration of Bulgari’s experienced craftsmanship, the necklace showcases an original chain motif. Every single link echoes the iconic ring’s distinctive edges and curved shapes. Technical professionals and fashionistas alike are bound to appreciate that even the links proportions are faithful to the ring circumference as if each element became a B.zero1 measure unit. The unique approach to design traces to Le Corbusier, a visionary Swiss-French architect known for his studies of measurements based on human body metrics.

The necklace chain comprises individual modules. Every link is composed of three handset parts meticulously assembled with great attention to detail. The merger of elements represents a union of industrial design and Bulgari’s savoir-faire rooted in 137 years of experience.

Made for high-spirited personalities who love new ideas, this stunning neck adornment styles in three ways. It wears beautifully with or without the tubular pendant. Alternatively, a thin 18k white gold chain sold with the jewel may supplant the original.

The ability opportunity for customisation does not stop there. The bold charisma of the restyled chain manifests in a chic 18kt rose gold necklace sporting a pendant with novel black ceramic highlights on the rims and an iconic double logo. For fans sold on classic gold, an 18k yellow gold iteration boasts diamond studs on the edges. Both distinctive

designs feature B.zero Rock’s irreverent studs through the central band.

B.zero1 Rock continues to encourage individuality through opportunities to create a personalised combination of pieces. The distinctive rose gold and yellow gold necklaces come with matching 18k gold rings, alongside a stackable 18k rose gold bangle with studs enhanced by black ceramic accents.

B.zero1 is the ultimate expression of independence and selfexpression. It deserves to be represented by trailblazers like internationalfashion-icon and musician Lisa of Blackpink.

The first K-pop star to be a global ambassador for Bulgari, Lisa joins Hollywood star Zendaya, Italy’s top model Vittoria Ceretti and supermodel Lily Aldridge as Magnifica muses. As indomitable talents that blazed paths in different fields with charisma and determination, they embody the fierce spirit of B.zero1 with their strength, resilience and feminine power.

“The new brand campaign seeks ultimate beauty with bold dreams in a special world that transcends time and space. Dreams lead us everywhere. Because dreams have the power to make life fascinating, dream bold, dream far, and dream big to celebrate the freedom of imagination and all possible visions,” Bulgari explains.

Some dream to push boundaries, and Bulgari gears to win those rulebreakers with its B.zero1’s courageous creations fuelling personal expression and style.
