Looking at this month’s big pictures

Just as few watches are as prized as those made by Richard Mille, there are hardly any yachting events more exclusive than the annual Les Voiles de St Barth. Thus, when the two paired up in 2010 for the inaugural regatta off the French Caribbean island, it was a marriage made in heaven. This year’s event won’t be going ahead for obvious reasons, but the Swiss manufacturer is nonetheless making a limited-edition version of its RM 60-01 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Les Voiles de St Barth available, with one of the 80 pieces to be sold in aid of local charities. Among its many attributes, this enormous 50mm x 16.33mm watch in grade 5 titanium features a carbon bidirectional bezel displaying the four cardinal compass points, which, as it functions perfectly in northern and southern hemispheres, makes it an ideal companion for well-heeled yachties (with, one assumes, wrists sized like tree trunks), wherever in the world they happen to be sailing.
