CHIEW YEE SIAN 26 Founder, Root Remedies

Fashion and Marketing student Sian Chiew is the founder and face of local skincare brand Root Remedies. Established in 2015, the brand was her first venture right after she graduated as she saw great potential in natural skincare.

With a mantra that believes less is more,

Sian Chiew doesn’t compromise on the high quality, minimally processed ingredients sourced straight from the earth like turmeric, lemongrass, lime, black pepper, yuzu lemon and more. Her brand, which is also crueltyfree and vegan, seeks to educate the masses that having an eight-step skincare routine is unnecessary when you have the sole natural product that works for you.

“By using less skincare products that are free from dangerous chemicals, it helps reduce the overall need in production of packaging like bottles and plastics that are the result of using too many products,” says Sian Chiew.

As a champion of “clean beauty”, Sian Chiew, together with her business partner and husband Leland Lo, has seen the brand grow over the years to a seven figures yearly revenue and all without investors.
