TAN SRI DR. JEMILAH MAHMOOD

Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah Mahmood is a formidable medica l professiona l w ith more than two decades’ worth of experience managing hea lth cr ises in conf l ict settings, such as earthquakes and war-torn countries. In 1999, she founded the medical charit y Mercy Malaysia. In 2021, she was appointed as Heriot-Watt Universit y Malaysia’s (H WUM) Pro-Chancellor. In the same year, she beg ins to ser ve as Professor and Executive Director of Sunway Centre for Planetar y Health, and Senior Fellow at Adrienne A rsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center. Her list of awards include Bahrain’s Isa Award for Ser v ice to Humanity in 2013, and the Asean Prize in 2019.
