CARTIER unveils a new boutique store named “The Lush Garden” at The Gardens Mall, boasting a wonderful space that embodies Malaysia’s rich heritage, writes Evonne Bianca Duis
True to it’s name, “The Lush Garden” is appropriately located in The Gardens Mall. Taking inspiration from Malaysia’s rich f lora and fauna, this Cartier boutique is designed to welcome guests to step into a more heightened experience. As guests enter through the majestic tall glass doors, lavishly lined with delicate gold frames, they are greeted by a Grand Foyer which is home to some of the maison’s most popular pieces like the Cartier Love and Cartier Panthère collection. The Grand Foyer is decorated with a delicate cascading chandelier of falling leaves. Surrounding the space is a beautiful floor-to-ceiling mosaic wall which is made up of 20,000 pieces of hand-cut elements. The elegant mosaic wall is an art piece of its own that took over five months to complete. The 3 artisans used ancestral stone marquetry techniques to finish off this interior mosaic wall design that is inspired by the rich heritage of the popular Malaysian landmark, Batu Caves. To the left of the Grand Foyer, guests step into a space decorated with wood panelling that carries a subtle masculinity with a wide selection of watches and men’s accessories. The opposite end of the space features wonderful Cartier lifestyle products like candles, trinket trays, and notebooks, as well as perfumes. To bring an equilibrium to the masculine interior, the High-End
Area, which includes a semi-private alcove, is carefully decorated with leafy embellishments that highlight the interior’s theme of nature. Here you can find the maison’s most beautiful high jewellery pieces on display.
By featuring local touches such as rattan furniture, the VIP Lounge imprints a feeling of comfort, local culture and luxury. The rich and vibrant leafy backdrop in the VIP Lounge brings out an intrinsic element to the space.
The Bridal Area, which features a backdrop of Malaysia’s national flower, the red bungaraya, is a clean and calming space where romantic surprises await the guests. Here you can find an expansive range of women’s accessories. Extending to the peaceful setting, guests are greeted with the Care Service Area – designed with clean lines and beautifully detailed plush furniture.
Cartier’s The Lush Garden represents the theme of nature beautifully and effortlessly. The boutique is cleverly wrapped around subtle details that cocoon guests in a calm and serene comfort. Pillar motifs, expertly hand-carved by local artists, mimic textures inspired by oil palm trees.
