KISHUN

Unveiled just prior to this year’s Watches and Wonders show, Grand Seiko’s SBGW283 “Kishun”, pictured here, and SGBW285 “Byōka” join the Japanese luxury brand’s growing portfolio of seasonally inspired watches in the Elegance collection. With its textured, light-blue dial, the “Kishun” represents the sky as spring transitions into summer (the matte dark green of the “Byõka”, on the other hand, symbolises mature vegetation as late summer morphs into autumn). Both these serially produced three-hand time-only timepieces come in a Zaratsupolished 37.3 mm-diameter stainless-steel case, which houses a manual-wound 9S64 movement that vibrates at 4Hz for a 72-hour reserve; the calibre and its signature stripes can be viewed through a caseback crystal. Completing the package is a crocodile leather strap in either blue or green.
