THE DRAGON’S GREEN GEM
While we wait for the last bastion of the zero-COVID policy to drop entry restrictions, new hotels and resorts have been opening within China to a travel-hungry domestic market. One spectacular opening last year is LUX* Chongzuo by the Singapore-headquartered hospitality brand. Located deep in southern China’s mountainous Guanxi region at the border of China and Vietnam, this resort is surrounded by a karst landscape and nestled within a mild sub-tropical climate zone. The architecture inspired by the traditional wooden stilted houses of the Zhuang minority is understated – to complement, not compete with the beauty of the surrounds. We can’t wait for the Middle Kingdom to reopen.
