WATER BABIES

WATER The absolute best superyachts we’ve seen in 2017.

- By DARYL LEE

The Sanlorenzo 52Steel, as its name implies, is a 52m superyacht rendered in steel from the manufacturer’s La Spezia boatyard. But its name only tells part of the story, as this particular 52Steel, Seven Sins, has been beautifully customised with a host of clever touches. Its five-deck layout has been tailored for maximum use of interior space and maximum natural light transmission, with vast expanses of glazing across its two main decks. The swimming pool on the main deck has a transparent floor, which floods the beach club beneath it with natural light. Light coloured wood decking and Paola Lenti furniture adds to the impression of airiness.

The centrepiece of the boat, however, is the central ‘floating’ staircase, crafted from glass and Carrara marble. It’s just as imposing on the outside, being Sanlorenzo’s largest yacht built to date, with an exterior design drawn up in collaboration with Officina Italiana Design.

SANLORENZO 52STEEL SEVEN SINS

With an all-star cast of collaborators having a hand in the building of CRN’S latest megayacht, you can be sure it’s a spectacular vessel. Not least because it measures 72m long and has an imposing five-deck layout. Studio Zuccon International Project handled the exterior lines and internal layout. No small feat considering it had to balance the goals of maximising space and seamlessly integrating her exterior and interior living areas. All the while ensuring it still looks elegant on the exterior. Needless to say, with all that, it requires an equally beautiful interior to match, a task design heavyweights Winch Design was more than up to. Light coloured upholstery, noble wood and a huge glazed surface area adds to the impression of space, making its generous 13m beam feel even larger than it actually is. All that isn’t too unusual in the megayacht world, but what Cloud 9 stands out for is its thoroughly modern, yet timeless design and layout that’s sure to give her owners and charter guests an infinite amount of sailing pleasure for years to come. www.crn-yacht.com ≠
