Optimal learning

-

NEXUS International School was established in 2008 and today boasts an enrolment of 750 students across 32 nationalities. It has garnered international recognition for excellent educational practices and effective use of technology in classrooms.

These accolades and accomplishments are some of the school’s best kept secrets.

Nexus International School was awarded the Apple Distinguished School Award in April this year, for its exemplary learning environment, leadership and educational excellence.

Only three schools in South Asia have met the rigorous criteria established by Apple Inc – Visionary Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Ongoing Professional Development, Compelling Evidence of Success, and Flexible Learning Environment – and shown to be worthy recipients of this accolade.

It has a number of Apple Distinguished Educators ( ADEs) among its staff members.

ADEs are part of a global community of education leaders recognised for their expertise in Apple technology in and out of the classroom. They explore new ideas, seek new paths and embrace new opportunities.

Nexus is one of two schools in Malaysia awarded the Mastering Status for its delivery of the International Primary Curriculum ( IPC). It is one out of only 11 worldwide – testament to the school’s superiority in creating learning environments that engage students effectively for optimal learning.

Nexus students are “learners” for a reason – they are not passive recipients of content but active pursuers in finding, creating and understanding information.

* Award- winning school:

* Showcase school for educational practice:

Within the education community, Nexus is highly regarded as a showcase school, displaying excellence in delivery of the International Primary Curriculum, and also for best practices in using technology for educational purposes. The IPC annual conference was held at the school last year and this year. Educators visited Nexus to learn innovative methods in IPC delivery.

Local international schools teachers from Garden International School, Help International and St Stephens International School have made learning visits to Nexus International. In addition, its status as an Apple Distinguished School has created a demand for teacher workshops and visits by the Malaysian Education Ministry.

Nexus encourages teachers to think about how to use technology effectively to enhance engagement and the learning experience.

Also, technology integrators in the schools guide teachers and work with learners to embed technology in lessons with the purpose of deepening their learning experiences.

* Just 35 minutes from Kuala Lumpur:

Mention that Nexus is in Putrajaya, and the perception of a long drive comes to mind. On the contrary, getting to Nexus from the heart of Kuala Lumpur only takes 35 minutes.

Many local and international students commute daily from their homes in Bangsar, Ampang, Mont Kiara, Subang Jaya and even KLCC. With the quality of education proven by many accolades that this school has won, Nexus International School should be the school of choice for Malaysians and international students alike.
