WHY GO
Brussels is best described as a gastropub where both the food and the beer share the limelight.
TATLER TIPS
The extensive list of draft and bottled beer is complemented by dishes that especially revolve around pork cuts and products. There is a comprehensive wine list, but diners will have to ask for it.
Order a plate of delicious roasted pork Chinese-style, which comes with a rich crackly rind and juicy flesh—the perfect accompaniment to Belgium draught beers such as Hoegaarden, Leffe and Grimbergen. The restaurant serves its own tapas-style dishes called bapas, which include bacon strips and pigs in a blanket, i.e. sausages wrapped in bacon. The signature pork knuckle, which perfectly showcases the full flavour of this crackle-encrusted bundle of porky juiciness. It’s worth coming for this alone.
