Tatler Dining Malaysia

Cava Restaurant & Bar

WHY GO

Cava is cosy and unpretentious, and checks all the boxes with a formal dining area inside and a casual bar on the covered verandah at the entrance.

TATLER TIPS The theme is Spanish and dishes are prepared with some authenticity within the realms of pork-free possibilities. In place of porcine, there's a suckling lamb that’s good for sharing.

From the tapas menu, try Cava’s delicious take on croque monsieur, here served with grilled Manchego cheese with tomato and turkey ham on focaccia. While technically not paella, arroz negro is prepared the same way using rice and seafood. Cava does a tantalising version that can be ordered in two sizes, with the small being large enough for two. There can’t be too many restaurants in KL offering 250 grams grain-fed Australian sirloin at RM58, as Cava does.
