Tatler Dining Malaysia

Way Modern Chinois

WHY GO

It’s not often a Chinese restaurant could be described as “romantic”, but we may have just found the place to have Peking duck and xiaolongbao on fancy date nights.

TATLER TIPS

Way has perfected the Instagram-worthy factor that seems to be necessary in most food presentation these days. The appetisers alone are worth the visit.

Start with the unusual skinless xiaolongbao. Visually, this “naked dumpling” is fascinating and delicate at the same time. A tip: avoid having anything else prior as its flavours are delicate and could easily be overpowered. Other items worth ordering: “rose” wanton and Pacman dumplings; both are as cute and charming as they sound. The waterless chicken soup is a signature. Made using only the chicken and without a drop of water, this has the aroma and taste of true homemade soups boiled for hours.
