With the South China Sea, sandy beaches and immaculate­ly groomed gardens as backdrop, and a Northern Indian menu littered with exotic offerings, Naan has plenty going for it.

For those after a sumptuous feast without fussing about too much, Naan offers excellent set menus featuring traditiona­l favourites. There is also a children’s menu, where the spice is thoughtful­ly toned down.

Choice starters to whet your appetite include the incredibly light paneer pakora and chicken tikka that’s crisp, laden with spices and served with a palate-cooling mint sauce. The deliciousl­y spicy jheenga Malabar, an aromatic prawn curry scented with fennel seeds, is highly recommende­d. Ditto the mildly spiced murgh makhani, aka butter chicken, and the dhal makhani. Order some fluffy cheese naan to mop up the sauces.
