Expect an interestin­g blend of Malay and Indian dishes spiked with lots of spice. Think ayam percik, rendang daging and biryani alongside butter chicken, tandoori and garlic naan.

For a taste of Asia, start with the campur campur, featuring chicken satay accompanie­d by an excellent peanut sauce, fish pokaras and poached tiger prawns with tangy green mango salad rolled in rice paper. The signature kambing kali Miri is a juicy tender rack of lamb marinated with cumin, coriander, fennel, garlic, black pepper and yoghurt, and highly recommende­d. Another signature is the assam pedas with sea bass fillet simmered in tamarind gravy and served with okra and fresh tomatoes.
