Kumar’s Restaurant
WHY GO
For a burst of spices and rich Indian flavours, this elegant restaurant is definitely the place to go.
WHAT TO ORDER
The fish cutlets are wonderfully flaky and dense while the samosas are filled with generous amounts of soft masala potatoes. While both dishes are deep-fried, neither leaves an unpleasant oily aftertaste.
The red snapper fish head curry is flavoured with a pleasant ratio of Indian spices and no amount of words can describe its freshness or how beautifully it’s cooked. The crab masala meanwhile, is succulent and profuse in flavour, thanks to its punchy marinade.
The large portion of mutton bone marrow in a sambal sauce, which holds collagen-rich, essence-packed marrow — delivered in shots through straws — and hunks of fibrous but hearty protein is sure to set forks scraping.
The vegetable biryani is studded with generous chunks of curried cauliflower, while the pillowy naan sweeps rich sauces effortlessly.
For dessert, the mango kulfi is ample with natural mangoes and chopped nuts.
