Thai Hou Sek is famously known for its fusion of ThaiChines­e cuisine. Serving dishes that are inspired by the Thai gastronomy, guests are definitely spoilt for choice as they browse through the menu.

If you like a nibble before your meal, you should try the Mieang Kam, a traditiona­l Thai snack, with pork lard crackers. Savour peanuts, vegetables, dried shrimps,mps, coconut shavings and crispy pork fatat all wrapped within a crunchy betel leaf. The aromatic and crunchy pork lard certainly kickstarts your tastebuds to dive into more tantalisin­g dishes.

First is the babi-q pork neck, a scrumptiou­s dish of succulent Thai-style braised pork shoulder served with a spicy and sweet sauce. It is a knock-out dish that leaves you cravingavi­ng for more. For curry lovers, the pork and pumpkin green curry is recommende­d.ded. It has a lingering sweetness that suitsit every palate. Guests should also try the siu yuk tom yum. The spicy and sour soup enhances the taste of the roast pork and the dish is a lovely combinatio­n of both Thai and Chinese elements.

A trip to Thai Hou Sek would not be complete without a serving of the signature dessert tab tim krob — crunchy Thai rubies, jackfruit and mango slices served with vanilla ice-cream and coconut milk. Also, don’t forget the signature drink, Thai Hou Yum, which is a delightful combinatio­n of jasmine tea, preserved plum and lime — very refreshing indeed!
