Previously known as Cocott’, Brasserie Léon sees a rebranding of name as well as culinary fare. The kitchen has gone back to basics by paring down the menu—all of the restaurant’s offerings now fit into a single page. Four starters vie for attention: homemade butter with bread served hot from the oven, deep-fried brie with red onion chutney, flamed-cured mackerel, and escargots in a pool of garlic butter.

Léon’s raison d’être, the Australian grain-fed striploin, showcases Chef Geoffrey Herin’s deft seasoning and grilling skills. The beef comes bathed in Léon’s signature sauce that sees a balanced applicatio­n of herbs, butter, and a secret ingredient, which we discover to be chicken liver thrown into the mix!
