LAI CHING YUEN

Grand Millennium Hotel, 160 Jalan Bukit Bintang TEL: 03 2117 4888 millenniumhotels.com

Largely occupied by families of 4 to 8 pax, Lai Ching Yuen is a feast for the senses. The first thing you see upon entering the restaurant is an open kitchen with white-smocked chefs huddled over their prep stations. Due to the high turnover of tables, the dim sum here is always fresh and served piping hot. In addition to steamer baskets full of bao, siew mai, har gao, chicken feet, and black bean pork ribs, the wok-charred lamb, an off-menu item, comes highly recommended. While there are no wines by the glass at Lai Ching Yuen, the restaurant stocks a sizeable selection of Chinese rice wines. Queries directed towards the staff are knowledgeably answered—all the more reason for our big thumbs up!
