Cava Restaurant and Bar
This wine bar on Bangkung Row has long served as an excellent primer of the joys of Spanish food. Its service was occasionally patchy and there was an element of the staff falling over themselves during my visit. Sometimes, it was difficult to get their attention. Nevertheless, Cava remained a very pleasant experience when it came to the food. I particularly enjoyed the fish, which was originally my third choice as the other items were not available. It was flaky yet tender and moist, cooked to perfection and complemented beautifully by the sauce. The tapas menu was also full of gems, with the Pan-seared Foie Gras with Truffle Mashed Potato and Sous Vide Kampung Egg a standout. And if you like your drink, you will be pleased with the wide array of Spanish wines on offer.
