Sushi Hara
Balance plays a primary role at Sushi Hara. Rather like the restaurant’s sleek, pared-back interiors, its omakase menus are a demonstration of getting the fundamentals absolutely right: an elegant procession of flavours and startlingly good seasonal specialties, all delivered at a perfectly measured pace until diners find themselves satisfied but never overwhelmed. That’s not to say there’s no room for indulgence - an omakase meal ends with a generous four-dessert platter here. If you’re not in the mood for surprises, their takeaway menu also carries some enticing selections. Trust us, the temptation to bring home another serving of ebi uniyaki don (a heavenly mix of rice, grilled prawn and uni sauce) will be difficult to resist. While the service staff could, at times, give diners a little breathing space and provide more articulate introductions to Sushi Hara’s fascinating line-up of saké, this remains one of the finest omakase experiences in Kuala Lumpur.
