Why go? Sushi Kazu delivers where it matters – the food. Which left me with a lingering satisfacti­on that a bill of that size does not often guarantee. Masterchef Norikazu Shibata (or Kazu-san)’s culinary techniques have long been the talk of the town, and to see his swift and capable hands in action at the chef’s table is breathtaki­ng. Witness omakase taken to a whole new level, as Kazu-san meticulous­ly crafts each serving to your tastes, creating a delicate dance between diner and the dined-on. Flavours in each course played spiccato on the palate. Pacing was a breeze. Each piece of sushi was expressed with flair to spare. All the details, however, were tucked neatly from plain sight unless examined; in the case of the food, nothing is missed. Kazu-san and his apprentice were totally approachab­le, directing all manner of questions at them made the experience seamless, without fuss, and simply delightful!
