More than just a luxury holiday home, Niseko Kyo is an elegant sanctuary designed to embrace its natural surroundings

-

Niseko on the island of Hokkaido, Japan, has become synonymous with winter sports, powdery snow and delicious food. No surprise that it’s become a favourite destination for Malaysians eager to escape the equatorial heat and feast on fine Japanese delicacies. For connoisseurs who desire an elegant base that’s as superlative as its destination, Niseko Kyo is a ski property with only 18 residences. Each with its own private natural onsen, the property is imbued with universal appeal while celebrating its locale.

AN IDYLLIC SETTING

Located in the charming village of Hirafu with majestic Mount Yotei in the near distance, Niseko Kyo is beguiling from the moment of arrival. Here, you’ll find some of the finest powder on the planet and as the property has direct access to the Ace Family Lift, Niseko Kyo’s ski-in, ski-out approach offers the convenience of having the destination’s famed winter sports right at your doorstep.

SUPER NATURAL

Inspired to create a property which is a destination in itself, Niseko Kyo’s design philosophy draws from nature and the Japanese philosophy of Ukiyo.

As such, nature was an intuitive choice for inspiration. To this end, materials such as timber, marble, limestone and quartz were favoured in the interiors. These were deftly deployed to create a sanctuary befitting its natural surroundings while allowing a seamless transition between the interior’s refined textures and the landscape beyond.

An integral component was evoking the ethereal expression of Komorebi, the hypnotic dance of shadow and light between the trees when sunrays filter through. By using light as an architectural

medium against timber and stone, the mood changes according to the time of day and season.

LIVING IN THE MOMENT

As time seems to slow down at Niseko Kyo, the second part of the design philosophy was to capture the spirit of Ukiyo. Ukiyo is a concept of living in the moment, being free and finding respite from the challenges of life. To this end, warm, neutral hues create intimacy in the space while luxurious touches lend decadence to help celebrate life.

Chief of these luxurious touches is a private natural onsen for peaceful soul-restoring moments. Every residence is also fully furnished with the finest amenities, so that residents may pack light yet be reassured that all their needs are met. Selected units feature a dual-key and triple-key system that allows greater flexibility for owners.

AT YOUR SERVICE

To complete the experience, residents will get to enjoy a full flight of services which are as thoughtfully curated as Niseko Kyo’s design. From a round-the-clock concierge to a ski concierge, down to housekeeping, laundry, stocking and shopping services to name but a few, residents will feel pampered and well-taken care of from the moment they are received at the airport.

Each unit will also feature your own personalised unit name and room scent, so even though this may be a holiday getaway, it will have the familiar feel of coming home. If you wish to wind down after a hectic day, Niseko Kyo has its own sauna and onsen, not to mention a beautifully appointed restaurant and bar to have meals at.

Whether it’s creating private moments or celebrating life to the fullest, Niseko Kyo provides an ideal backdrop to enjoy everything this dream destination has to offer.
