Tatler Dining Malaysia

WHY GO

-

Luxuriate in Japanese hospitality over fresh and tasty cuisine prepared by a seasoned chef in a beautiful tropical hillside restaurant located in idyllic Langkawi.

A sampling of the recommended sushi platter is a good way to start and gives an idea of the freshness, tastiness and authenticity of chef Katsuji’s culinary creations. The maraiwase kumo set features nine types of nigiri sushi and three maki rolls that positively check all the boxes.

Follow that with the delicious beef teppan style with fried garlic, and the kani kamameshi (crab claypot rice) that boasts of the tantalising aroma of sweet crab meat. The rice itself is well seasoned and most pleasing on the palate when taken with the beef.

Round out the meal with an assorted tempura platter, prawn cream croquette, tuna tartare and tiger prawn teppanyaki. The croquette is soft, crunchy and satisfying, while the tuna tartare is fresh and its taste elevated when paired with the roasted seaweed wraps provided. The tiger prawn teppanyaki is optimally done and is served with a butter, white wine and shoyu sauce that enhances the smoky flavour of the grilled giant prawn.
