Najib urged to replace failed state Umno leaders

-

KANGAR: A senior party leader has urged Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to replace all state Umno leaders who failed to ensure a Barisan Nasional (BN) win in the next general election.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said some state Umno leaders were still honeymooning and did not serve the people.

"This is not the way to win the general election, especially in states that have fallen to the opposition.

"I hope Datuk Seri Najib replace state Umno chiefs who failed to deliver," he said when opening the Perlis Umno Convention 2014 here yesterday.

Tajuddin, who is also the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and AgroBased Industry, said he has voiced out as Najib was too kind hearted to act against state leaders who failed.

Also present were Perlis Umno liaison chairman and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and his deputy and Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.

Tajuddin said he raised the matter as he did not want to lose in the next general election, especially in states that have been lost.

"We do not want to lose again. What will happen to the Malays if this thing happens?

He said the Malays in Penang are being forced to leave the island state because they could not afford to buy houses as they are too expensive.

"The Malays are also weak in Selangor as seen by the return of the Malay bibles. This is what happens when Umno loses. The voice of the Malays is no longer heard," he added. – Bernama
