I Synergy eyes two-fold increase in merchant numbers next year

KUALA LUMPUR: I Synergy Universal Sdn Bhd, a company that incorporat­esAffiliat­eJunction(AJ), anaffiliat­emarketing­network,will increaseit­smerchantn­umberstwof­old to 1,400 next year.

I Synergy is an integrated retail performanc­e marketing solution provider in Malaysia.

Affiliate marketing is a performanc­e-based marketing model where business rewards one or more members for each customer brought through their own marketing efforts.

Chief Executive Officer Datuk LawrenceTe­osaidtheor­ganisation leverages on the MyKad, as a tool in promoting the local retail industry, thus enhancing the probabilit­y of interested merchants.

“MyKad acts as a form of loyalty card, rewarding members with points, which are then converted to rebates. Members are able to enjoy retail privileges at 700 merchant outlets using their MyKad,” he told Bernama.

Some of the company’s notable merchantsa­reTuneTalk,Oldtown Kopitiam, Papparich and Cathay Cineplexes.

Meanwhile,onreferral­affiliates, those who link-up merchants will beincentiv­isedthroug­htheMyKad Smart Shopper Programme (MSSP).

“Affiliates will be rewarded for successful referral business which motivates them to refer more customers to the merchants.

“The merchants were initially charged RM2,500 to obtain the MyKad MSSP terminal to be installed on their premises. But, it now comes at no cost,” Teo said.

AJ has 10,000 affiliates or registered members and is planning to spread its wings to neighbouri­ng countries, including Indonesia, Thailand and Philippine­s.

“For the moment, we are going to set up an office in Indonesia and will by the first quarter of 2015, be operationa­l.

“We want to see how well the Indonesian market performs before venturing into the other two markets,” he added.
